Decisions

No one has ever taught you to take a decision! Some people are gifted and have this skill to decide what is right for them. Others turn out to drag themselves into destruction because of a foolish decision made at an angry moment. I believe that people who are able to take "effective" decisions are those who use their brain. Poor decisions come from directions sent from the heart. Whether it is an "effective" or "non-effective" decision, it still takes a a lot of courage to balance between your mind and your heart.  Students should really be able to take decisions starting from the smallest details till they decide on their university major. The skill of calculating all the advantages and disadvantages of a certain event and then deciding on what best suits their interests should be taught either formally or informally. it is really essential to model appropriate decision making in front of the generation you are supposed to raise and guide them through it. By being a good model for decision making, you lead your students and any other persons into the correct path.

  1. We make tons of quick decisions unconsciously. We choose actions and form perspectives through mental processes which are influenced by biases, reason and emotions. It is well within our power to make choices that will lead to greater well-being. So we all make decisions every day. However I think that most people are much poorer at decision making than they think. Every decision must be made in the light of some standard of judgment. This standard usually is expressed in the form of criteria that reflects the values of the one who makes the decision. These values are often influenced by rules, culture and practices.

  2. Decision is a choice that you make about something after thinking about it, and choices between right and wrong have been around since Adam and Eve. So i truly agree with you that people who are able to take effective decisions are those who use their brain, and poor decisions come from directions sent from the heart. For instance, the best leaders know the potential consequences of their unethical choices, and they create policies that discourage overstepping moral bounds.

  3. . We as teachers we are the facilitators ,the controllers, the helpers ,the supporters for our students.Because we play all these roles we should teach our students to become independent learners who depend on themselves in taking the right decisions that resemble their choices . Teaching involves a personal commitment to continual learning and education, and sharing your own joy for creative expression and knowledge with young minds. Therefore we are their idols and we must not repulse their hopes

  4. I strongly agree with you that we should be good decision makers infront of our students so they would try to imitate their models, that are us! But I disagree with u about what you said about the decisions taken from directions sent from our heart . Dear a decision is a decision whether it was driven by our hearts or brains. Since I believe we cannot take a decision with separating mind from our heart.
